Event: Saturday July 31 2010, 8:45 p.m.
Gold and Silver Mining: Wasatch Mountain State Park,off U.S. 40,northwest corner of Midway 435-654-1791. state-parks.utah.gov/events.
Local historian Jerry Springer will be presenting a historical,black and white slide show on the history of gold and silver mining in Utah with an emphasis on mining along the Wasatch Back.

Mike, Stuart, and Crystal gave an Excellent presentation Tuesday evening
July 20th, 2010 at the Utah Gold Prospectors Club monthly meeting in Salt Lake.

Last month Jeremiah, Crystal, Neil, and I took Kuer's Jennifer Napier-Pearce into the Ophir Hill to investigate the hobby of abandoned mine exploration. A couple weeks later she attended a portion of the first annual NHMI Western Conference, here is the resulting story. It also features Glen Carpenter of the BLM and fellow mine explorer/artist Jerry Gardener.
